One hot summer's day in Tehran, school-teacher Farzin Rouhani leaves his house...to meet his lover. By noon his life is turned upside down. The infamous Revolutionary Guarrds arrest him on suspicion of conspiring to overthrow the government. Although he is innocent, telling the truth is not an option. Facing his interrogator, Farzin has to decide—does he want to be jailed for subversion or for revealing his homosexuality?

Interruptions
is about life's ruptures; discontinuities that inform who we are. It depicts the struggles of moderate Iranians in the face of upheavals by the religious and politically motivated, and examines some of the misfortunes of the Iranian people and the country. The overriding theme is the ruptures at every level in the lives of characters, emotional as well as political.
